From February 13 to 15, Paris becomes the rum capital of the world!

The Mondial du Rhum will be held for the first time next week at the Palais Brongniart, from February 13 to 15. Conferences, concerts, a gala dinner, job dating… Rumporter, partner of the event, will have a stand where you can discover current and back issues, buy books on rum, taste the Sodade x Rumporter cuvée, and meet members of the editorial team. But let’s let Patrick Loger, the visionary behind this unique event, tell us more about the program!

Patrick, the Mondial du Rhum takes place next week, so first question: how’s it shaping up?

It’s going very well. Above all, it’s a celebration of the first time. We’re seeing a tremendous amount of coverage in the national and international press. What’s more, social networks have taken up the event and are inviting as many people as possible to come and discover the first edition, which will go down in the history of the global rum ecosystem. Paris becomes the rum capital of the world. Over 100 speakers in four areas: public affairs, business, innovation and education. An exhibition featuring a cultural area, an institutional village, a Made in area, a rum producers’ village, an industrial village…

Can you tell us more about the event?

The Mondial is a place for public players and economic decision-makers to meet and exchange ideas, with the aim of facilitating the development of the global rum ecosystem. A summit and an exhibition. It’s 50 buyers, influencers and journalists from all over the world. Extraordinary! They come to meet all the exhibitors and stay for the three days, fully supported by the Mondial du Rhum.

What is the program?

Three days of debates, meetings, exchanges, business, one to one, 36 conferences, the G20 Rum Summit, round tables, 50 exhibitors, job dating organized by France Emploi, the big band jazz concert, a gala dinner, a film screening, an opening plenary session, a closing plenary session. … and as Mondial du Rhum participants don’t like to rest, there’s the “Mondial du Rhum hors les murs” program, enabling them to discover or rediscover Paris with good recommendations.

Who will be exhibiting?

Over 30 rums from all the French overseas territories, rums from mainland France, Cape Verde, Venezuela, Barbados, Cuba, coopers, public institutions, tourist offices, certifiers, training organizations, France Travail… Young people from all the French territories and even from the OECS (Organization of Caribbean States). Happy exhibitors, as their schedule of appointments explodes.

Who will be the visitors?

Economic decision-makers, investors, students, young people, elected officials, diplomats, mixologists, restaurateurs… in short, all those who revolve around the rum ecosystem. Don’t forget that this is the first edition, and a world first in terms of form!
