Once again, Guatemalan rums are distinguishing themselves. And once again, it’s about sugarcane honey, when the freshly pressed sugarcane juice is warmed slowly until the water evaporates and only concentrated sugar remains.
Called “virgin cane honey” in the original Guatemalan rum vocabulary, the product is then fermented with natural pineapple yeast for several days–5 for the Botran.
Pasador de Oro is a new blend of 8 to 15 year old rum for the XO version and 10 to 18 year old rum for the Gran Reserva version. In addition to its splendid bottle, it has a special feature: it has been rested in cognac casks in the Charente region of France for the last 6 months.
Are you wondering how that’s different from Plantation Guatemala? The taste! Even though both rums share some features, the Plantations are aged for a longer time in Charente while Pasador spent most of its time at high altitudes!
The affordable price and the nice decanter bottle make the Pasador de Oro the ideal birthday or Christmas gift for someone who enjoys sweet and smooth rums.El Pasador de Oro XO
