Wild Tiger launches the first Indian Spiced Rum

The observant rummy, can’t fail to have noticed the bold and distinctive packaging of Wild Tiger Rum as Brand Owner, Guatom Menon travels the world sharing the virtues of his rum from Kerala that has Tiger Conservation at its heart! The recent release of an India Spiced Rum extends the range and wears a red fur coat to help distinguish it from its brother.

Wild Tiger
India has a long historical connection with exotic spices and it seems only natural that these would play a part. Guatom can reveal that Cardamom, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Liquorice, Black Pepper, Ginger, Cassia Bark, Orange Peel, Forest Honey feature, but can’t be drawn on a secret Tea extract fused into the Rum. He is also keen to point out that this Spiced Rum is naturally flavoured, intensely aromatic and with ‘absolutely no artificial additives at all’. Given the year on year rise in Spiced Rum sales, we look forward to seeing how this expression will fair in the marketplace.

For my part, when I sipped it during the Rum Festival season at the end of 2016, the cardamom note was quite prominent in amongst all the other spices, with a pleasingly complex taste that is quite unlike the heavily sugared, vanilla lead norm for this category. It will be interesting to see how the final blend is presented.
