The Mondial du Rhum will return in 2026

After a second edition that followed in the footsteps of the first, the event created by Patrick Loger will once again be held in the heart of Paris in February 2026.

Patrick Loger Mondial du Rhum

Patrick Loger’s gamble paid off, as the second edition of the Mondial du Rhum was held in the very heart of the capital, in the iconic Palais Brogniart on 12, 13 and 14 February. Although Manuel Valls, the French Minister of State for Overseas Territories, was announced at the start of the event, he was unable to attend the inauguration, although former French President François Hollande himself was in attendance! Joey Starr also made an appearance.

Among the exhibitors were a strong contingent from Guadeloupe, including Montebello, Bielle, Marie-Louise, Marsole and Boko, as well as Polynesia, which had come to defend its geographical indication project. Réunion was represented by the Part des Anges distillery, and there was a little Martinique in the Opportune 1791 rums. As last year, Cape Verde and its grogues were also well represented.

This year, the boutique was run by Terre de Rhums, a new winery in the 18th arrondissement of Paris specialising in pure cane juice rums. Other rum producers included Chalvignac, who had installed a magnificent still in the centre of the hall, Berlin Packaging, Kallafut, Seguin Moreau and others. The theme of spirit tourism was given particular prominence, with the presence of Sabrina Robin, vice-president in charge of (spi)tourism for the Guadeloupe Departmental Council, as well as representatives of the Riviera des Iles de Guadeloupe.

STRUCTURE

This 2025 edition will have several important consequences in terms of structuring the industry, since small producers from overseas France and France’s overseas territories have come together through the ECOROM association (Ecosystème Rhum de l’Outre-Mer et de l’Hexagone), chaired by Patrick Loger.

Following the conference on the contribution of rum to the international pharmacopoeia, the AMORE association (Association Médicale Outre-mer de Référence et d’Expertise) was also created, under the honorary presidency of Georges Fabrice Blum.
A third edition of the Mondial is scheduled for 2026.
