The Mondial du Rhum, an international gathering of public and private decision-makers from the rum ecosystem, is returning to Paris for its third edition. Supported by the French Ministry for Overseas Territories, Atout France and the Higher Council for Wine Tourism chaired by Hervé Novelli, the event will be held at the Carreau du Temple from 9 to 11 June 2026, with seven overseas territories represented.
Patrick Loger, founder of the Mondial du Rhum: “I am delighted with this upcoming 3rd edition of the Mondial du Rhum. It is an event that brings together and promotes our entire rum ecosystem, combining tradition, expertise and innovation. Our ambition remains as strong as ever: to highlight the diversity, expertise and excellence of the rum ecosystem around the world, in a setting that encourages discussion, discovery and the promotion of this exceptional industry. ”
The theme of this new edition is ‘Terres et Territoires de Rhum’ (Rum Lands and Territories), promoting culture, expertise and spiritourism at the heart of sustainable tourism. This third edition is positioned as:
• An international platform where producers, planters, institutions, entrepreneurs and communities exchange ideas and build the future together.
• A driver of cultural and economic influence, particularly for overseas territories, which find it a major showcase.
• A space for culinary and spirits tourism diplomacy, where ancestral traditions and innovations meet and enrich each other.
Spirit tourism as a compass
An initiative promoting cultural influence and economic development The Mondial du Rhum is part of the national strategy adopted in July 2025, which aims to make France the world’s leading destination for sustainable tourism by 2030, with an ambitious target of €100 billion in international tourism revenue.
Spiritourism is identified as a priority lever for diversification by Atout France. This event will therefore be an opportunity to present the National Spiritourism Laboratory, review the actions already taken and announce the next steps.
The Moun Péyï label will also be unveiled, along with the criteria for obtaining it. The ambition is to make each player in the Rum Ecosystem an ambassador for their country: a training programme will be dedicated to this so that they can present and promote their region through the prism of the rum industry.
It will also be a place of cultural convergence – gastronomy, fashion and music – and economic convergence. Beyond exchanges between decision-makers and players in the ecosystem, the programme for the 2026 World Rum Festival will be enriched by culinary cruises orchestrated by leading chefs, haute couture fashion shows and jazz concerts.
