Planteray unveils a 40-year-old Jamaican rum!

Planteray rums recently unveiled their oldest and rarest rum: Planteray Jamaica 1984.

Planteray Jamaica 1984

Made at the famous Clarendon distillery in Lionel Town, Jamaica, and distilled in pot stills, this 40-year-old rum bears the MMW (Monymusk Wedderburn) mark and embodies the very essence of Jamaican rum aged to its peak, as Alexandre Gabriel, Master Blender and creator of Planteray rums, explains: “Planteray Jamaica 1984 is more than just a rum; it’s a celebration of history, craftsmanship and ageing. This rum has a very special place in my heart – just imagine, 40 years in casks! A glass of this rum is like experiencing four decades of rum expertise and history. Over the years, this rum must have seen so much!”

It is no exception to the Planteray signature of double aging. It is aged for 35 years in the tropical climate of Jamaica, followed by 5 years in ex-Ferrand casks in Cognac.

This Planteray Jamaica 1984 is the oldest rum offered by the house, and will be limited to 317 numbered bottles. A decanter with a wooden stopper handcrafted by artisans in the Cognac region. Each medallion has been created from the barrel that contained the rum in Jamaica, and features an individual hand-engraved number.
