Head to Thailand for this new vintage from Alexandre Vingtier Selection in partnership with your favorite magazine: a 12-year-old single cask.
This rum, aged in Pineau barrels, is distilled from molasses in a column still before being aged in tropical climates in 200-liter re-charred bourbon barrels. It is then aged for several months in 225-liter Rémi Landier white Pineau des Charentes barrels in Charente. Finally, it was reduced to 54.55% for optimal tasting.
A true concentrate of exoticism and indulgence!
Tasting notes by Alexandre Vingtier:
Nose: refined vanilla, mint, soft caramel, coconut, citrus fruits, mango, roasted pineapple, apricot, raisins, honeyed spices (clove, cinnamon, nutmeg), roasted nuts, and a subtle barbecue-style smokiness.
Palate: crème brûlée, citrus zest, dark chocolate, evolving towards vanilla, caramel, raisins, peach, fig, pepper, ginger, and a hint of blond tobacco.
Finish: long and warm, with spicy oak, coffee, leather, cedar, delicate smoke, and an earthy touch.
