Distillery Chamarel launched four limited-edition offerings: one new single cask and three original finishes.
The latter are made of a 100% fresh sugarcane rum aged 6 years in French oak casks. The rum is then split between three different types of casks, each with its own characteristics, for one additional year of aging. The results are the Moscatel, Sauternes and Single Malt finishes, each in a limited edition of 1,000 bottles and available only, strangely enough, at the distillery in Mauritius. Finally, there is a last rum, a single Cask 2009 that is launched as successor to Chamarel’s Single Cask 2009 vintage.
Aged in French oak as well, the 8-year old rum is bottled inside the same decanter as the three original finishes, and is sadly also available only at the distillery and in limited edition.
