Braud & Quennesson expands its range with an ESB and a white rum dedicated to mixology

A new ESB, the signature blend of Chai, made from a blend of rums aged for at least 24 months in former bourbon and cognac barrels, as well as new French oak barrels.

Tasting notes provided by the producer:

Nose: Very complex—notes of stewed white fruits (apple, quince), with a vinous structure reminiscent of the aromatic palette of Cognac: orange, chocolate, vanilla, nutmeg, grape marc.

Palate: The attack is clean with a smooth structure. The retro-olfaction is of candied orange, caramel, praline, and cinnamon. The palate is as complex as the nose.

Finish: Signature du Chai 44.6° pairs well with pastries such as tarte tatin or orange tart.

In addition, there is a new cuvée designed for mixology: a white agricultural rum made from cane harvested in 2024 on different plots of the estate. The blend was then delicately reduced to 45%.

Tasting notes provided by the producer:

The nose—invigorating—reveals a very distinct dominance of vegetal notes, lemon, and passion fruit. Upon aeration, the vegetal notes disappear, giving way to notes of fresh cane, lime blossom, and jasmine.

The palate offers a supple and linear structure. The dominant citrus notes mingle with a few bitter notes on the finish, with a ripe cane profile.
