Bouvil Pure Cane, the rebirth of a historic Haitian rum

In February, Bouvil Pure Cane Rum brings back into the spotlight the oldest Haitian rum brand still in operation, founded in the 1850s. Produced continuously by the Vilbon family for nearly two centuries, Bouvil embodies a tradition rooted in local culture.

Bouvil Pure Cane

Produced from wild Haitian sugar cane, grown without pesticides or herbicides, and distilled in traditional stills, Bouvil Pure Cane has developed a unique style, halfway between clairin and agricultural rum. Despite political, economic and natural crises, its production has never ceased.

‘Producing, exporting and maintaining an authentic and historic Haitian rum on the world stage is a huge challenge. From wild cane to logistics, every step is fraught with obstacles. And yet, Bouvil exists. It is a unique achievement. We are proud to finally share this cultural treasure with the world,’ explains Zak Oganian, CEO of ORIGEN X Group.

Bouvil Pure Cane Rum will be available in the United Kingdom and certain international markets from February 2026.
