Ampov Distillery unveils three new creations: a VO «Barrique Sauvage», a VO «Route d’Angkor» and a blend «Kampra».
Barrique Sauvage aged for 3 years in ex-bourbon casks. Tasting note: Nose: elegant woodiness, bitter cocoa, candied fruits. Palate: powerful, fleshy, with notes of caramel, fleur de sel, smoked tobacco. Finish: long, ample, persistent with fine tannic tension.
Route d’Angkor is made from molasses and also aged for 3 years in bourbon casks, in the «Sabay» cellar in Cambodia. Tasting note: Nose: elegant woodiness, subtle vanilla, a touch of leather and dried fruits. Palate: round and warm, notes of toasted oak, brown caramel, sweet spices. Finish: persistent, slightly smoky with fine complexity.
Kampra is a blended rum of pure-cane-juice and molasses rum, white and amber, united by a natural, spontaneous fermentation. Tasting note: Nose: vanilla, with the vegetal side of the cane. Palate: round and powerful, in the vein of characterful ESBs. A perfect balance for this meeting of two worlds. A characterful rum, elegant and indulgent.
Ampov will be present at the Bordeaux Rhum Festival on 6 June 2026.
