A non-producing rum country, the Ivory Coast is in the process of opening up to rum, a process that should accelerate the holding of this ambitious event.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Abidjan<\/p>\n

This is a first for the economic capital of the Ivory Coast, Abidjan will host its first rum festival. The Abidjan Rhum Festival (ARF) will be held on October 14, 15 and 16, 2022 at the Tiama hotel (5 stars).<\/p>\n

Well-known brands like Isautier, Maison Ferroni, Opportune 1791, AH Riise, but also African rums like Bahari (Kenya) or Sanaga (Cameroon) will be present.<\/p>\n

Others who cannot go to C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, but still wish to present their rums to Ivorians, have sent bottles which will be at the tasting: Bielle, Bumbu, Chalong Bay, or Savanna.
\nIn all, a hundred rums will be presented.<\/p>\n

Masterclasses will be organized, as well as food and rum pairings concocted by chef Alisson.<\/p>\n

Concretely, Friday will be reserved for officials, journalists and guests. The public is expected on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n

Ticket holders will have a 2.5 hour time slot to complete the tasting tour and visit the brands that will be present in the hotel’s suites and rooms.<\/p>\n

\"Abidjan<\/p>\n

Saturday evening will be devoted to the festive side of rum with an evening set off by Caribbean music. Finally, an ephemeral shop will allow visitors to acquire the references they liked.<\/p>\n

And Rumporter being a partner of the event, each visitor will leave with a copy of the magazine! “The idea of \u200b\u200bthis festival is to present rum in its diversity to Ivorians, who beyond Saint-James, know it poorly,<\/em> explains Francis Boussougouth the organizer of the event and founder of the Maison du Rum Abidjan (rum shop with more than 300 rum references).“I insist on the fact that we will also learn to taste it, it is not a question of drinking alcohol, moreover an NGO fighting against alcoholism will be present”.<\/em><\/p>\n
