The International Rum Summit (SIR), of which Rumporter is a partner, will no longer be held in Gosier, Guadeloupe, but in Paris on 3, 4 and 5 May.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In view of the popularity of the event, the SIR organisers have decided to relocate it to the capital, which is better equipped (in terms of catering and hotel facilities) to accommodate the 2 000 people expected to attend.<\/p>\n

The foreign delegations (22 countries represented) will have an easier time getting to Paris, thanks to its two international airports. \u201cWe also wanted to redeploy to a neutral location, where each participant could feel at home, explains Patrick Loger, one of the ITS promoters. Moreover, the choice of Paris shows that this is not a tasting show, but an international summit built on four pillars: public policy, business, innovation and education.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

A sign of the change in dimension of the SIR is the location where it will be held for three days, the Palais Brongniart ! Built at the instigation of Napoleon I, this iconic monument of the capital (which offers 4 000 m2 of exhibition space) was until 1998 the headquarters of the Paris stock exchange.<\/p>\n

It is no coincidence that the SIR took up residence there at a time when rum was also becoming a kind of financial commodity that is traded and sometimes speculated on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
