Plantation cleared the 6-metre bar with their Extr\u00eame series (already in its 3rd season). So little was our surprise when the team told us that one of the brothers used to be a shot putter – no pun intended! You’re not very familiar with Plantation’s Single Casks, are you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, there’s a reason why. Alexandre Gabriel’s team has just decided to communicate about this line. As they return from the holiday, they will release a series of Single Cask rums.<\/p>\n

After maturing in a two-stage ageing process (Ferrand’s trademark), these rums then benefit from futher maturation in other casks, carefully selected by el Se\u00f1or Gabriel in collaboration with other talents in the spirits world.<\/p>\n

Guyana 1998 x Ocho Tequila<\/p>\n

This Guyana 1998 was distilled in a Port Mourant still at Demerara Distillers Ltd – \u201cDDL\u201d in geek terminology. Stored for 17 years in the country of origin, and then for 2 years in Ferrand barrels in Charente, Plantation style. Not forgetting the Tequila washing, cashmere cycle, at 30\u00b0C, for 6 months, with, as a result, notes of agave that seamlessly blend with the rum. A firm favourite!<\/p>\n

Jamaica XO x Teeling Whiskey<\/p>\n

After ageing for one year in Charente in Ferrand casks, this purely Jamaican blend also benefits from further maturation in casks from the Teeling distillery – famous for its Irish whiskey! This rum is less divisive than its Tequila cask counterpart but deserves to be given serious consideration!<\/p>\n
